Guest Guide

Thank you for coming to South Lake Tahoe! Thao & Matthew are looking forward to seeing you soon.

Quick links

  • Schedule — dates, times, and locations for each event! Some additional protips are below.
  • Shared Google Photos album — join the album and add your pics as the weekend goes on!

General Tahoe Tips

  • Drink excess water — South Lake Tahoe is at 6000+ ft above sea level! High elevation dehydrates you, especially if you're also drinking alcohol. Edgewood recommends one glass of water for every cocktail and then some!
  • Transit — Uber and Lyft are available. There are also Yellow Cabs and a free shared vanpool app called LakeLink. We've heard LakeLink can take a while — plan accordingly!

Thurs 7/18: Welcome Drinks 🍹

Parking: Riva Grill (map) has free valet parking that is unlikely to fill up.

What to expect: The event is 7:30-9:30pm. There's no set program, so come and go anytime! Expect an open bar with cocktails, wine, and beer, plus charcuterie and desserts.

What to wear: Anything you want! Some folks will be semiformal or formal, so this is your chance to shine if you want a chance to wear a different fancy outfit than the wedding Friday. 👗

Fri 7/19: Wedding Day! 💍

Parking: Edgewood Resort has free valet parking. After the gate, drive straight following signs for the Clubhouse (NOT the Lodge). The building will be on your right.

When to show up: 4pm. The ceremony starts at 4:30pm sharp just north of the building. We do not recommend being earlier than 4pm as setup may be ongoing.

What to expect: 4pm arrival, 4:30pm ceremony, 5-6pm cocktail hour, 6-10pm reception. Passed appetizers, salad, plated dinners, dessert bar, and an open bar with a variety of drinks.

What to wear: We encourage formal or fancy outfits! If you need more direction, ChatGPT narrowed to “black tie garden glamour”. Ultimately, we want you to be happy, comfortable, and fancy in that order.

Sat 7/20: Goat yoga 🐐

When to show up: We've split the groups into two! Check your timeslot here. Reach out to Matt if you need to switch your slot.

Parking: Regan Beach has plentiful public parking, though it's possible it could fill up on a busy weekend. We recommend arriving early just in case.

What to expect: 30min goat yoga + 30min goat playtime! We recommend bringing a water bottle if you have one, though we'll have some on hand. You do not need any other supplies. Yoga mats will be provided.

What to wear: Anything you want for yoga!

Sat 7/20: Free-for-all 🥳

After goat yoga, there are no more officially planned activities on Saturday! Thao & Matt are hoping to find a beach with jetski rentals (TBD where). 😎

Some activity ideas that we've heard folks are doing: steamboat trip, ropes course, and sitting in the Margaritaville hot tub. 🔥

Additional activity ideas:

  • Frisbee Golf at Bijou Park
  • Take bikes out from Anderson's Bicycle Rental (sport, trail, and electric available ⚡)
  • Taylor Creek, an easy nature walk near a stream.
  • Escape room at Trapped in Tahoe — Matt and two friends tested the hardest room here (Sector 9) and did not escape. He has complaints with two of the puzzles, but maybe he's just a sore loser. 😉

Saturday evening: Thao & Matt are targeting Fire+Ice Stir Fry for dinner + casual drinks at McP's Taphouse Grill (an irish pub across from Margaritaville). These both won't do reservations and could be crowded, so this is all flexible and informal! Feel free to message either Matt, Thao, Nathan, or Connie to find the latest status if you're around. Otherwise, it's a total free-for-all!

Sun 7/21: Brunch 🍳

When to show up: Anytime 8:30am-10:30am (earlier half is recommended for load balancing)

Where to go: Walk in Margaritaville, turn left, and walk up the lobby stairs to the second floor. Follow the hallway next to the sign for Come Monday cafe, and tell the hostess you’re here for the wedding group.

What to expect: Standard hotel brunch. Informal + you can come and go as you please. You don't have to be staying at Margaritaville to attend. Thao & Matt will be around the whole time to say hello!

That's it! We're looking forward to seeing you soon. 🙂
