Hotel Block

We've secured a block of hotel rooms at the Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe at better-than-public rates. The hotel sits on Lake Tahoe Blvd, the main South Lake Tahoe road, and is very close (4min drive, 19min walk) to our wedding venue. The resort completed an $80M renovation in Dec 2023, and the rooms are all 500sqft+ suites.

Block Rates

For a King bed suite:

Thurs 7/18$169$299
Fri 7/19
(wedding)
$309$349
Sat 7/20$309$349

Average: $262/night

Taxes & Fees:

  • 14.195% + $4 city, state, and local taxes
  • $35/night resort fee (reduced from $45 publicly)
  • $21/night valet (reduced from $29 publicly)

We have sold out of rooms in our block. You can request a room by filling out the form below. We'll reach out by Wed June 20 if we're able to secure additional rooms.

Alternate Options

You do not have to stay in the block! However: July is peak season for South Lake Tahoe. One popular alternative is casino lodging right on the Nevada border (ex: Harvey's), but the price is more expensive for a smaller base room (avg $297/night excl taxes/fees at last check).

There are ~70 hotels nearby at a variety of prices. Many are too small for a room block but have individual rooms available. The large hotel conglomerates (Hilton, Marriott) are all $400+ avg/night. Airbnb is also an option with a wide spread of pricing.

From our research: Margaritaville is a convenient option with a great location, a nice discount from public rates, and a good price:quality ratio.

FAQ

Do I have to stay Thurs-Sun?

You do not have to stay all three nights to use the block rates. Adjust the dates when booking.

What's happening on the other days?

The wedding is Fri July 19 from 4-10pm. We expect to have informal activities on:

  • Thursday night (welcome drinks)
  • Saturday (TBD)
  • Sunday morning (brunch)

Stay tuned for specifics. We'd love to see you throughout the weekend, but it's okay if you leave earlier! There will also be unstructured time for you to explore the city, lake, and mountains nearby.

What's up with the $85 prosecco and $38 cookies?

These are options that Margaritaville offers to all bookings. We haven't tried them ourselves, but we suspect you can find good desserts nearby cheaper than $38/night. 😏

Are queen rooms available?

Margaritaville has a limited supply of rooms with two queen beds, so they wind up being more expensive (+$30-40/night). If you want one anyways, click “Block is full” above and fill out the form, marking Queen beds at the bottom. We'll try to get one for you in the second wave.
